Self as Designer

I see myself as a photographer. However, I know I have the potential to be able to be better. It is one thing to be satisfied with my photos and there is another side where I always love challenging myself. So by the end of the year, I want to be able to expand my knowledge  and reach the potential that I can obtain. I know that design can propel me into a whole new atmosphere.

The Status Quo

The Styrofoam cup has been a constant visitor in our lives.  We see this tool as a great utensil for all, but still lacks something key. The Styrofoam cup is drab. Its scaled , "animal print" design and flimsy base have made it an eyesore. Despite its intuitive intentions, the cup is simply outdated. Through this project, we have been able to revolutionize the drinking industry. We have created Cup. Cup is the sleek, modern, and premium alternative.

Procedure

1. To begin with, we looked at the cup and looked at the benefits of the cup.
2. We looked at what the cup lacked, and thought about how this dull vessel could be made into a product with more appeal.
3. We looked at the minor details of the cup, like its "animal print" design.
4. Next start making some sketches on how you can improve on what the cup lacks and how to incorporate its good parts too.
5. Think on how this is much better than what the status quo is so that you can bring that up in your presentation.
6. *If needed, make prototype out of clay to make the design more tangible.*
7. Bring in your ideas to the presentation in a clear way in which people can understand

Conclusion

At the end, we created a product that's much more premium and custom built. we made a cup that had interchangeable handles that can be changed. It has a completely rounded and smooth finish and is never too wide or too narrow in one place. Above that we have a built in cup warmer into the cup so no one needs to find one and put one in their cup and have it fall out. Cup is the new vessel of the 21st century. Cups have evolved over the years. Cup is the next evolutionary jump to drinking excellence.
