Year Recap

Now I could go through and liter this entire post with pictures, but instead I want to tell the story of what I learned this year. I started the year off with P.E in 1st period and then changed my schedule and came to this class. As soon as I walked in I saw a great teacher and it looked like a great environment. Last time I had been in that room, it was in detention. Now it looked more different and then there was Ms. L who was so inviting despite the fact that I had missed the first day and since that this class has been a blast. I recall our first projects and the "make something useful" project where Jake and I remodeled a cup. After that there was so much more with starting off with CAD. At first it was very daunting, buy now I feel so much more comfortable with it. Through the year, we learned so much about the design process and actually added some structure to what I had originally thought was a flimsy process. I had learned so much more through and really got me to learn what it was like to think like a designer. This class made me create bizarre things and projects and taught me how to be proud of them. This class had me eager to learn what we will do next. Who would imagine a high school class to make A VIDEO GAME! This class was one of my favorite ones through all of my Education. So this being my final blog post, I'd like to thank Pltw for giving such a great opportunity, and Ms. L for truly teaching us one of the most valuable things I've ever learned.
                                                                          Thank You.
The future might hold many things for the world. However, we are living in the world with something that sheds light on the near future. This is 3d printing. Through 3d printing we can achieve some great things in the world and in this project we were able to get a sense for how the world might be in the future.

RESEARCH
When I started with research I found some basic information to start with. For ecample, I found out that based on what you want 3d Printed, the duration could take up to 3 hours or more, or just a couple of minutes. The cost for these parts can range as less as $5 to $500. All you really needed was an STL file from CAD. The material can be from plastic to other variations of that. i even found out about a startup that was trying to 3d print clothes!

CAD DRAWING
I ordered this part and got it on Sunday. It was very prompt and did feel on the smaller side. However, that is my mistake because I should've made it larger, but this is fine for me because it still makes a nice paper weight or souvenir.  I think working drawings and words can be used to design things in the world. Now even though 3d Printing has many pros, some of its cons include how it can be used for nefarious purposes, but other than that I do not see anything too wrong with it and I truly believe it is the future of the world. The cost for this is very high now, but I trust it will go down as it becomes more popular.

3d Print What?!?!

I hope to design a 3d printed bow tie. For the past few years, I have been looking for a good bow tie. In that time I have gotten two, but I know that these are great articles of clothing. Bow ties have been known to be the epitome of  social clothing. Possible roadblock would probably be designing it because there are many ways you can design it and it can either be very easy, or very difficult. The dimensions should approximately be around 10 x 4.7 x 1.5 cm. The largest task will be to make sure that I finish up the design of it because that will be the most tricky. I would have to get these done by around the end of May, and maybe the very start of June, because it may also take longer to design based on its complexity.

Maler faire reflecrion

This entire project was a very interesting one. We switched from a classroom to a creative home. I learned many qualities like documenting properly and writing a narrative.
This has been a very investing process mostly because of the failures. I recall sitting with the ai team and feeling the same sense of v accomplishment when we got the "thing" to follow us.
Along with that this whole project has been a hard fight. No doubt it was hard from the start but that doesn't matter because we learned so much more.

Maker Fair Work Space

My plan for our work space involves 3 table making a large and encompassing opening. By creating this we allow people to feel more invited. We will have an ark most probably made with cardboard put together that says "WHS intro to Design presents to you..." And a little poster that displays the name of our game. We could also have people standing at the front inviting people to come. Maker faire has very large numbers of people and we have to get people to come rather than sitting and not doing anything. We will have a poster board displaying our work and the other table will just have computers and laptops. 2 people will manage each laptop and that way we can make sure nothing happens to them and help when someone is stuck. Overall my takeaway is that there are a lot of things to at maker faire... How are we going to have people come to us instead? I also understand that we have only one table, but it if it is possible for us to bring our own tables, or at least something of tyhe nature, we could be a lot more effective.

The Week 4/20-4/25

This week was nothing but an extension of last week. Along with last week, this week I had also work with the documentation team. This week was just a tad bit slow, and Vijay and I mostly just took photos and captioning them. I started walking around and helping out where I could, like spectating on with the AI team.

The week April 27-May 1

Throughout the entirety of this week, I worked largely on the documentation. For example, I created the game name documentation and started recording all the names that I had heard. I had made a blogpost with the shared link If anyone would like to record their suggestions. Above that, because I have a little bit of knowledge in coding, I spectated the ai team, and tried to help out whenever I could. Along with that the documentation team just had to keep making sure everything was up to dateI also helped out with people on the engineering team whenever they needed a little bit of help with the narrative. This was done along with me, Sonia, and William.
